Il dispose devant nos yeux les éléments d'une botanogénie, d'une physiologie et d'une physionomie végétales puisées aux sources autorisées: Agrippa, Digby, Paracelse, Porta, Grand Albert, Nynauld, Campanella, Van Helmont, William Maxwell, Madathanus, Ragon, Eckartshausen, Van der Becke, Papus enfin, dont Paul Sédir fut l'élève.

La botanogénie s'occupe des principes cosmogoniques dont le jeu produit le règne en question. La physiologie végétale étudie les forces vivantes en action dans les plantes. La physionomie végétale, science des signatures, ou science des correspondances, nous apprend à reconnaître, à son aspect extérieur, quelle est la qualité des forces qui agissent dans les plantes.

Dans L'atelier des sorcières et des sorciers, Stanislas de Guaita inventorie la bibliothèque de la sorcière et du sorcier qui se composent d'in-folio et d'in-quarto fort massifs, en ne faisant halte qu'aux pages les plus décisives.
